If you go back to the fourth and fifth century B.C, then you would come to know about the past of the painkillers. There were different types of painkillers used in the past and they were used for various purposes. The history of painkillers is so vast that one would get tired of reading about it. But this history is very much interesting.
The main painkillers include anti steroidal and non-inflammatory medicines. There are further several types of these drugs which are usually known as narcotics. There are many different names of these drugs which are categorized into sub categories like the Semi-selective NSAIDS, COX-2 NSAIDS and conventional NSAIDS. When it comes to the drug administration and the food, then selective categories of these drugs are used. Sometimes the non-selective narcotics are also used for this purpose. If you are concerned with the stomach issues, then you should know that high dosage of aspirins or you can say super aspirins do not cause any kind of stomach issues and you can also take higher doses of these drugs.
The pharmaceutical companies usually manufacture and market these painkillers. These medicines are for different purposes of healthcares. These pharmaceutical industries have divided their supplies in different locations and the medicine is available through prescriptions or through over the counter. The drugs can be abused through these both categories.
Drugs cannot be sold unless and until the OTC is divided. These medicines are divided into five categories which are not to be used. The first category is the medicines which are labelled with Roman numbers. The medicine includes heroin, marijuana and LSD. Then, the second category lies between the 2nd and 4th schedule. These drugs are also restricted from using. Then the schedule five includes some cough medicines which include morphine, methadone and cocaine in them which is also restricted to use.
Now, we will discuss the history of some of the most popular painkillers. The famous painkillers include:

There are many different forms of it which were later on made by many different pharmacists. Then came sodium salicylate, which came into being in the 19th century by a German chemist. This medicine was modified by many chemists and one of them was Felix Hoffman who modified this medicine for the cure of stomach pain. Then in 1897, he made acetylsalicylic acid for this purpose.
During the 19th century, a painkiller was created in France, which aimed at the reducing fever and was brought in front of the world. This medicine was known as the phenacetin. Then after sometime, a German scientist Karl Morner created acetaminophen which was safer and more effective painkillers then phenacetin. This medicine came into the market in 1953.

Later, morphine was discovered by a German scientist named as Friedrich Sertuerner in 1803 and then a Scottish doctor Alexander Wood made the first injection using a syringe in 1843. Heroin was found in 1874 by an English scientist C.R Wright and then it was sold in the market by a company named and The Payer in 1898.
Paracetamol was also used as a painkiller. Basically, it turned out to be an alternative for painkillers but in fact, it is a painkiller which is used for reducing fever. It also helps us to get relief from pain. This medicine has nothing to do with the inflammation. Moreover, it is also a very old medicine which is used for the above mentioned purpose.
